Toughness
Toughness - Is a state of being strong enough to withstand adverse conditions or rough handling. The ability to deal with hardship and cope with difficult situations.
What is biblical definition of toughness?
Joshua 1:9
- This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
6 Themes of Toughness
1.Conviction
1 Thessalonians 1:5
For our good news came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with great conviction.
Ask yourself:
- Does your life demonstrate the work of the Holy Spirit?
- A are you the Salt and Light?
- Are you living in Gods will?
2.Confession
- Confess your sins
- Be authentic
- What are the habits in your life that is causing a hindrance in our life and division between you and God?
- Confession leads to healing
- Ask for prayers and accountability.
3. Receive Correction
Proverbs 12:1
Whoever loves instruction and discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof and correction is stupid.
- If you can’t receive corrections you will end up corrupted.
Neglected corrections will leads to confusion. Confusion leads to corruption, and corruption leads to chaos.
- How can we correct someone if we can’t take correction ourselves?
4.Commitment
Psalms 37:5
Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him also and He will do it.
- Give god the right to direct your life, trust in him along the way and watch how he pulls it off perfectly.
5.Change
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed and progressively changed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
- Your habit create a lifestyle and your lifestyle will lead to you legacy. What is your legacy?
- Change is something or someone be altered or modified. God wants mold you into who you were supposed to be and alter the direction of your life.
- You have to set boundaries.
- Once you have changed, share it. Your testimony will encourage others.
6.Toughness is not about being the man, but serving the man.
Philippians 2: 3-5
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility, regard others as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus.
- Jesus came to serve not be served.
- Check your motives, serve for God not for man.
